We operate a cafe, commercial kitchen and host private functions and events for our village residents and the community of Cambridge. We have a full time Front of House/Kitchen hand position available in our busy Kitchen/Cafe. Te Awa has been operating nearly 3 years now, and due to the growth of the village, there are two positions available that will share the role ‘Master of Care, Communication and Organisation’- a role which is critical to the operation of the village.

As the director of first impressions, communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals. Your verbal and written communication skills will handle complex interactions, resolve conflicts, and leave a lasting positive impression on clients and colleagues.
Build and maintain great relationships with our residents and their whanau, visitors, contractors and our wider team, providing support that contributes to the overall success of the organisation.
Showcase proactive problem solving and demonstrate your ability to anticipate and address issues before they escalate. You can manage unexpected situations with confidence and creativity, making you an indispensable asset to your team.
Are tech-savvy demonstrating proficiency in office & operational software and understand new technologies, to be able to troubleshoot IT Issues, and train team members.
Will be open to learning, and grow in your role as the village grows.
You will be a key member of our team, working closely with our management team, across all departments. This is a full-time position; the position needs to be covered 7 days a week. We will appoint two people to this role, who will job share, a possible roster could be 4 on, 4 off, or you will need to work your share of weekends.
Daily activities include making connections for people, initiating sales enquiries, coordinating departmental activities, meeting and greeting people, coordinating resident activities, fixing things that are not working, managing situations that are unplanned, corralling paperwork and information to meet our quality management system requirements, contributing to continuous improvement.

This role also has an element of minor building, and clinical equipment repairs, planned, preventive maintenance and audit compliances.
